Blogoversary Giveaways Galore: Two Divergent Themed Prize Packs + Two Other Prize Packs

Today, May 2, is Bookish Delights one year blogoversary!!! Yay!! I have enjoyed blogging, reading great YA books, and writing book reviews. And with the recent addition of some really awesome YA book reviewers, I am glad that I get to share my first blogoversary with them. So I want to thank my awesome YA book review team and of course I also want to thank our lovely blog followers/readers for supporting us throughout the past year.

So now for the fun part. Giveaway time!!! Since my blogoversary lands so close to the release of a fabulous, must-have dystopian YA novel called DIVERGENT by VERONICA ROTH (May 3), which I'm sure most of you are familiar with and dying to have like me (my ordered copy arrives on the release day...so excited!!), I am giving away two Divergent themed prize packs and two other prize packs. Divergent by Veronica Roth is perhaps the best YA Debut Book of 2011! It is very special!! You need to buy this book if you aren't lucky enough to win a copy on my blog.

Check out the review of Divergent by Veronica Roth posted by one of our very own book reviewers Brynne at Bookish Delights(Click HERE). You will get bonus entries into the Divergent giveaways if you comment on it!!!

Also check out the book trailer for Veronica Roth’s DIVERGENT, which was posted today (May 2) on Entertainment Weekly’s website! Enjoy! (Click HERE)

Divergent Synopsis (Via Goodreads):
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself. During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her. Debut author Veronica Roth bursts onto the literary scene with the first book in the Divergent series—dystopian thrillers filled with electrifying decisions, heartbreaking betrayals, stunning consequences, and unexpected romance.

2. Matted Frame with Glossy Divergent Cover Photo and Complementary Beautiful Poem About Bravery (which I thought related well to Divergent), called "A Bravery Pledge" by Lynn C. Johnston.

“A Bravery Pledge”
Poem By Lynn C. Johnston

Some think bravery is living without fear

But that is not true
Bravery is living despite the fear
Doing what needs to be done
Even though you’re scared to death
Some can stand on the sidelines of life
And be content with what could have been but never was

That is not me
I will not look back at the end of my life

Thinking of what could have been
I vow to live my dreams no matter what
I will stand up and be counted
Even when I’m one of the few
Or standing all by myself
I will proudly state before God and all who see
This is who I am and what I want to be

I will stand proudly in the batter’s box

On the baseball field of my dreams
And I will not cower at the thought of being hit
Or feel ashamed if I should strike out
If I do not achieve all that I desire
It will not be for lack of courage or effort
I will go down swinging
As if my life depended on it

But if all I want is meant to be

Then I will hit a home run
That will not only echo in my heart and mind
But in all of those who were destined to witness my success
And maybe in that moment
Courage will be found in another
Searching for the strength to be brave

Credit: The poem "A Bravery Pledge" was sponsored via permission by the author Lynn C. Johnston. Thanks Lynne! The full poem can also be viewed by visiting Lynn's personal website(by clicking HERE). Thank you for your reviews and efforts in sharing with us. I have never read a dystopian book and in Brynne's review she mentioned how the main character comes into her own and proves to be so very strong - I love strong female characters and their process of awakening and find these stories very inspiring. If I could only be wonder woman it would be grand. Thanks again!

  96. All I can tell you is that once I started it was impossible to put down. Tris is a strong and courageous character that will instantly capture the reader’s attention. From the start she is young girl trying to please her parents and peers while feeling isolated, but as the story progresses it becomes more about her discovery and relentless courage. Her world is very unlike our own, and at first glance appears to be a peaceful and improved society, although, upon closer inspection this alternate reality proves to be a corrupted world that suffers from tyranny and segregation.
