Hurricane Irene

Luckily for me, I live in Atlanta which did not even receive a single drop of rain when Irene passed by. (Drought in Georgia) But, to all those in the path of the hurricane churning and blowing the Eastern Seaboard coast, good luck and have hope. I hope that all of you have heeded the warnings and evacuated. I want to pay homage to the already 9 dead, at the least. The massive size of this storm surprises me though it is only a Category 1 storm. I hope that everyone affected by this storm stays well and alive.

Review: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer

Title: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer
Author: Michelle Hodkin
Release Date: September 27th 2011
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Source: Once Upon a Twilight ARC Tours

Synopsis (via Goodreads):
Mara Dyer doesn't think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there. It can.
She believes there must be more to the accident she can't remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed.
There is.
She doesn't believe that after everything she's been through, she can fall in love.
She's wrong.

Review:
This book was just wow. I really liked it. I fell in love with Mara and Noah and always felt like I was there with them throughout their adventure together. Although I will say, as much as I liked this book, I thought some parts were a bit cliche. (I won't get into it as to not spoil anything.) I found that this plot didn't really twist as much as I had thought it would either. Some of it was extremely predictable which I didn't really like. But I will say that the writing in this book was amazing. This was a book that I just got so many mixed emotions from I don't know exactly how to write this review!  But I can say that after reading this, I'm sure that the second book will be even better!!!! This is a book that's definitely worth the read.

Cover Thoughts: I absolutely LOVE this cover! It's just so cool!
