Genie question: that's a hard one. I'm very *very* suspicious of genies (except for Aladdin's genie... if I find a genie that talks like Robin Williams, then we're going to have some fun wishing time & then I'll release him, of course). : )
ReplyDeletebut otherwise, I wouldn't make a wish. I know, how boring, but genie wishes ALWAYS go wrong. I might wish to free the genie, depending on circumstances & the genie (if he's obviously evil/malicious, I'm putting him right back in that jar).
Fun question. : )

My one wish would be the ability to become a great writer and bring out emotions in people through my writing. I always wanted to be an author (which I why I love books so much) and I admire the kinds of books that keep me hooked and ones that actually enjoy to read and feel like I know the characters. I would also like to use this ability to write a few non-fiction books and hopefully motivate people (mostly kids) to become better.

I've known what I wanted since I was eight!
ReplyDeleteDear Genie: I want, with no ill effects on my person, non-deforming, non-painful, controllable by me, to be able to make anything I want--a painting, a novel, a pony, a new dimension-- just the way I want it, with editing ability and all, just by commanding. Not the ability to *portray* things, you understand, but the ability to call things into being.
Best this not apply to humans, though. I wouldn't want to worry that I was shaping the thoughts of people around me.
Other than that, bring on the creator mojo! I promise, it won't corrupt me, and the world will be happier and more full of pie for the experience. Try me? Please, genie?
carapacenator(at)gmail.com

My wish, as a Navy wife, would be that my husband, and every other spouse, kid, father, and mother will never have to deploy again. The fear, heartache, and loneliness is something that nobody should have to feel or go through. Although I am very grateful for what they do for us and it has made me a stronger mother and wife but, in the end deployments suck and I wish I could take them all away.

If I had a personal genie and my wish could be granted, it would be a wish that I think about quite often. I would like to open a no kill animal shelter.
ReplyDeleteI love all animals but I especially want to help cats. I am saddened by the many homeless cats I find who are starving and trying to survive only to have people be mean to them and yell at me when I feed them. If a genie could grant me any wish, I would ask for the ability to communicate with nature. I would love to be able to understand the wind, converse with the mountains, and talk to fire. Although nature doesn't talk, it must accumulate lots of stories during its eternal life.

ReplyDeleteIf I had one wish, I'm pretty sure it'd be the ability to know what people need to hear at different points in their lives, and being able to relate that to them. Too many times, I don't know what to say, or end up saying the wrong thing, regardless if someone is in a bad point in their lives, and I really wish I'd be able to help in saying something meaningful to them.
ReplyDeleteiamthewal.russ@yahoo.com.
And, dream book at this point would probably be A Clockwork Orange, because it's been about a year that I've tried to remember to get it, yet failed in doing so. I haven't read it yet, but have heard it's interesting / I'm really liking the fact that it has its own internal language to understand by the middle of the book. Makes the process of reading sound more appealing.

If I had a genie to grant me one wish it would be to own a fabric/craft store with an endless supply of all my favorite fabrics. Supplies would never dwindle. It would be a magical shop that replenished itself, and required no bills to be paid, but would make lots of money.

My wish would be that my children would be safe forever. Never ever to be harmed or to get into trouble and would have the happiest life possible with no disappointment ever.
ReplyDeleteklove1432@yahoo.com
I have fibromyalgia and my wish is that it wouldn't control my life as much as it does. I'd like to have the energy again to cook, clean, read a book and go for a walk - all on the same day. I'd like to not have to worry about if I have the energy to drive home from where I've gone - or the fact that I slept through my 3 day weekend because I went out for a 1/2 a day. But on the other hand, I am thankful for the pain blockers that help me get through my days at work and the fact that my headaches aren't near as bad as they used to be. =0) Smiles!

If I had a Genie grant me a wish I would wish for a cure for my RSD which is a nerve disorder that causes me to be in pain 24/7/365. I have lost the ability to walk and am in a wheelchair. I have also had to give up my 14 year teaching career. I would love to be cured so I can get my life back.
